Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Keplar collects when you use keplar.app, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run your study plan, we don't sell your data or show ads, and you can delete your account at any time from Settings.

The short version

• You can start without an account. A guest account stores your progress under an anonymous ID. Adding an email is optional.
• We store your study data (answers, plans, progress, saved colleges) so the app works and syncs across devices.
• Coach messages go to third-party AI models to generate replies. Don't share personal details in them.
• Payments are handled by Dodo Payments. We never see your full card number.
• We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, with text inside the app hidden. Visitors in Europe are asked first.
• We don't sell personal information and don't use it for advertising.
• Delete your account any time in Profile & settings, or email pushpit17@gmail.com.

Who we are

Keplar ("we", "us") is a digital SAT prep app available at keplar.app. For any privacy question or request, contact us at pushpit17@gmail.com. Keplar is not affiliated with College Board.

What we collect

Account information

• An anonymous account ID when you start as a guest.
• Your email address, if you add one or sign in with an email link.
• Profile details you choose to give us: display name, time zone, target score, test date, current score, and settings such as leaderboard visibility and notification preferences.
• A friend code generated for your account.

Study and activity data

• Your answers to practice questions, the Question of the Day and games, including timing and confidence ratings.
• Your study plan, tasks, sessions, streaks, XP, achievements and skill estimates.
• Colleges you save, deadlines you track, and practice-test scores you log.
• A copy of your local tracker data, saved so it syncs across devices.

Content you create

• Files, links and notes you add to your library, including any you share with friends or groups.
• Comments, reactions, study groups, friend connections and reports you submit.

Coach (AI study assistant)

• Messages, images and voice notes you send to the Coach, along with context about your plan and progress, are sent to AI models through OpenRouter to generate a reply.
• Your Coach conversations are saved in your browser on your device, not on our servers. On our servers we record only that a message was sent, so we can count credits.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which collects your payment details and handles tax and receipts under its own privacy policy. We receive a customer ID, your plan, subscription status and renewal dates. We never receive your full card number.

Device and usage information

• Analytics: Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, page views and device type). Text inside the app is masked in these recordings. If your device is set to a European time zone, Clarity only runs after you allow it.
• Server logs: our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• Approximate country: we read your country from your connection to show prices for your region. We don't store your IP address with your account.
• Abuse prevention: for a few actions we briefly count requests by account or IP address to stop abuse.

Information stored on your device

Your browser stores your sign-in session, saved app data, Coach conversations and your analytics choice, using local storage. Microsoft Clarity may also set cookies once allowed. Clearing your browser data removes these from that device.

How we use it

• To run Keplar: build and update your study plan, choose practice questions, track progress and sync across devices.
• To provide social features you use: friends, groups, leaderboards and comments.
• To process purchases, credits and subscriptions.
• To send in-app notifications you've turned on.
• To keep Keplar secure and fair, including moderating reported content and preventing abuse.
• To understand how Keplar is used and improve it.

We don't sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or show ads.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run Keplar. They process data on our behalf:

About AI providers: Coach messages are processed by AI model providers through OpenRouter, and some providers, particularly for free models, may keep or use prompts under their own policies. Please don't include personal details such as your full name, school, address or ID numbers in Coach messages.

Some information is visible to other students when you use social features:

• Your display name and stats on leaderboards, depending on your visibility setting (public, friends or private).
• Comments you post in shared spaces.
• Resources you choose to share, visible to the people or groups you share them with.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or as part of a merger or sale of Keplar, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in Profile & settings, we delete your account, profile, study history, plans, saved colleges, uploaded files and comments. Dodo Payments keeps payment records as the law requires. Hosting logs and backups held by our providers expire on their normal schedules.

Your choices and rights

• See and correct most of your information directly in the app.
• Delete your account in Profile & settings. If you have a subscription that renews, cancel it first so you aren't billed again.
• Get a copy of your data by emailing us.
• Control visibility on leaderboards and turn notifications on or off in settings.
• Analytics: decline Clarity when asked, or block it with your browser's privacy settings.

Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and California, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email pushpit17@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Students and children

Keplar is designed for high school students preparing for the SAT. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it. If you're under 18, please review this policy with a parent or guardian. Parents can contact us with any questions about their teen's account.

Security

All connections to Keplar use HTTPS. Access to your data in our database is restricted to your own account by row-level security rules, and administrative access is limited. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong, private email account for signing in.

Where data is processed

Our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. When information is transferred internationally, we rely on our providers' safeguards for those transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the app.
